Medical Staff

South Tampa Medical Group is a progressive internal medicine practice serving the South Tampa community for over 15 years. The office is located at 3614 West Kennedy Blvd. Our location is convient with excellent parking. Our facilities have been recently remodeled in order to provide efficient care to our patients. We have recently begun implementing an electronic medical record system in order to improve the accuracy of patients medical records. As this system is developed and refined, we anticipate that you will be able to schedule your appointments, review your lab studies and medical records on line.

Dr. Leonard Mennen
Board Certified Internal Medicine; Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine

Dr. Mennen has been with South Tampa Medical group for over 12 years and is highly respected by his patients and peers alike. He now has committed himself to patient care through private practice. He has held several administrative and faculty positions at universities. Prior to joining South Tampa Medical Group, he served as executive vice president of academic development at Midwestern University in Downer's Grove, Illinois, and has been a Dean of two medical schools. Outside of the office Dr. Mennen has been active within several professional organizations and public service communities. He has received several honors during his academic career.

Dr. Henry J. Weiss
Board Certified in Internal Medicine

At South Tampa Medical Group, you are not just another number in our office. Quality patient care has been the forté of Dr. Weiss, who was a surgeon in Argentina before coming to the United States. His passion for making a difference in people's lives started at the age of 17, when he became the youngest student to enter medical school in Buenos Aires. He started South Tampa Medical Group 15 Years ago.

Dr. Antonio Bunker-Huertas

Dr. Bunker joined South Tampa Medical Group in June of 2010. After completing his undergraduate studies at the University of Puerto Rico, he graduated from Ponce School of Medicine in Ponce, Puerto Rico. Dr. Bunker is fluent in both English and Spanish and has a caring and attentive manner to all of his patients.

Dr. Janice Alexandra Summers, M.D.
Board Certified in Family Practice

Janice joined South Tampa Medical Group in March 2009. She grew up in Grosse Pointe Shores, Michigan and graduated from Wayne State University and W.S.U School of Medicine in Detroit, Michigan. Dr. Summers completed her residency at Oakwood Hospital where she served as Chief Administrative Resident. She worked in private practice for 11 years in Northville, Michigan before relocating to Tampa, Florida. Dr. Summers is Board Certified in Family Practice, is an active member of the Florida Medical Association and the American Academy of Family Physicians, and has special interests in preventative medicine, women's health, and geriatric care.

Kristen Jefferies Smith
MS, FNP, BC

Kristen is certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner and is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nurses and Golden Key Honor Society at the University of Florida. Her primary responsibilities at South Tampa Medical Group involve providing comprehensive, in-office health care to a broad spectrum of new and existing patients. Providing the highest quality of health care to each of her patients is her most important personal objective each and every day. This attitude is reflected in her relationship with her patients.

Kaethe Eberhart
MSN, ARNP-BC

Kaethe received her BSN from Bradley University in 1986 and her MSN from Vanderbilt University in 1992. She is Board Certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner from ANCC. She served in the Army Nurse Corp, resigning as a Captain in 1990. Kaethe has provided care in private practice, military, Veterans Affairs, and university medical centers.

Katherine Tilson
Certified Nurse Practitioner

Katherine is certified in Adult Health and is a member of Sigma Theta Tau. Her major responsibilities is to offer medical service to our patient's that are in skilled and long term nursing home facilities. She has been part of South Tampa Medical Group for years. She has great concern for her patients and is always available to interact with the families.

Administrative Staff

Francisco Amanti, MBA
Administrator

Mr. Amanti holds an MBA in medical practice management and has been the administrator of South Tampa Medical Group since 2007. Prior to managing South Tampa Medical Group he managed a women's oncology center in Tamarac, Florida. While there he was instrumental in the creation of a program that allowed disadvantaged women access to oncologic surgery. Mr. Amanti has also served as the CEO of a spinal surgery facility in Clearwater, Florida.
