Each of our medical professionals has dedicated their career to the goal of taking care of others. Dr. Leonard Mennen
Board Certified Internal Medicine; Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine

Dr. Mennen has been with South Tampa Medical Associates for over 12 years and is highly respected by his patients and peers alike. He now has committed himself to patient care through private practice. He has held several administrative and faculty positions at universities. Prior to joining South Tampa Medical Group, he served as executive vice president of academic development at Midwestern University in Downer's Grove, Illinois, and has been a Dean of two medical schools. Outside of the office Dr. Mennen has been active within several professional organizations and public service communities. He has received several honors during his academic career.

Dr. Henry J. Weiss
Board Certified in Internal Medicine; Hospitalist

At South Tampa Medical, you are not just another number in our office. Quality patient care has been the forté of Dr. Weiss, who was a surgeon in Argentina before coming to the United States. His passion for making a difference in people's lives started at the age of 17, when he became the youngest student to enter medical school in Buenos Aires. He started South Tampa Medical 17 Years ago.

Kristen Jefferies Smith
MS, FNP, BC

Kristen is certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner and is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nurses and Golden Key Honor Society at the University of Florida. Her primary responsibilities at South Tampa Medical Group involve providing comprehensive, in-office health care to a broad spectrum of new and existing patients. Providing the highest quality of health care to each of her patients is her most important personal objective each and every day. This attitude is reflected in her relationship with her patients.

Katherine Tilson
Certified Nurse Practitioner

Katherine is certified in Adult Health and is a member of Sigma Theta Tau. Her major responsibilities is to offer medical service to our patient's that are in skilled and long term nursing home facilities. She has been part of South Tampa Medical for years. She has great concern for her patients and is always available to interact with the families.

Administrative Staff

Francisco Alarcón Amanti, MBA
Administrator/Executive Officer

Mr. Amanti holds a BA in Computer Science and in English Literature from Williams College. He also holds an MBA in Medical Practice Management, and is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives. He has been the administrator of South Tampa Medical Associates since 2007. Mr. Amanti became one of the managing partners of South Tampa Medical Associates in 2009. Prior to managing South Tampa Medical Associates, he managed a women's oncology center in Tamarac, Florida. While there he was instrumental in the creation of a program that allowed disadvantaged women access to life saving oncologic surgery. Mr. Amanti has also previously served as the CEO of a spinal surgery facility in Clearwater, Florida, as well as in the management teams for Pinnacle Health and LoCicero Medical. Mr. Amanti is a published author and has written articles in several fields, including a series of medical articles for the NACD, in whose quarterly journal he appears regularly.
